Why am I receiving reminders to check in, even if I recently used the app?

The check-in reminder is a notification we send to help couriers keep their location and availability updated in the app as the logistics agencies can only see the location of the OBC when the app was last opened. Location tracking does not run in the background for privacy purposes. Here are some specifics on how it works and what you can do if you feel the reminders are too frequent:

How the notification works:

  • Frequency: This notification appears only once, about 2–3 days after the last time the app was opened. After that, it will not send further reminders until the app is opened and closed again, which will activate and restart the notification timer.
  • Purpose: The reminder helps ensure that couriers’ location and availability are current, so you receive job requests that match your latest status and whereabouts.
  • Deactivation: At this time, reminders cannot be turned off. However, if you don’t open the app when the notification arrives, no new reminder will be triggered.

Tips to Manage Notifications:

  • Open the app regularly: Alternatively, you can open the app every 1–2 days, which will keep the reminder notification from appearing.
  • Ignore the notification: If the reminder pops up, simply ignoring it and not reopening the app will prevent new reminder notifications from coming in.

These notifications are designed to help you as couriers to keep your location status up to date, which is crucial for ensuring job offers align with your current availability and location. Couriers who are active at a place can make the most of real-time updates that agencies rely on to see where OBCs were last online and where available.
